Drawing Thanks is an ongoing portrait series which celebrates the impact of creativity and community. Through over six years of work and 3000+ portraits, Drawing Thanks has strived to activate gratitude and perspective economies throughout Vancouver. Now it is expanding into an exciting new Maple Ridge artist residency.
This is an inclusive space and I believe that when individuals grow to love and accept themselves and share that authenticity with the world, it can change it for the better.
No matter race, religion, ability, sexual orientation, or any other (at times) marginalizing factor, you’re welcome here.
If this level of inclusivity makes you uncomfortable, I gently challenge you to stick around and see what you might take away from these human stories.
As we explore the unique efforts and creativity of those featured, it is my hope that your perspective is challenged as mine has been countless times throughout this process.
Growing isn’t easy, but it gets better when you surround yourself with community.
Thanks for joining us,
Alex
